EFCC Faults Claims of Freezing Accounts of the Adelekes
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has shut down the rumour making rounds that it froze the accounts of belonging to Davido and his uncle, Ademola Adeleke. Clarifying this in a statement shared by its spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, the agency said there was no truth in the claims being circulated on social media, adding that it was a campaign designed to taint their image. The statement read: Quote “The attention of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has been drawn to media publications alleging that it had frozen the account of Senator Ademola Adeleke, candidate of the opposition People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in the September 22, 2018 Osun State governorship election and those of his family members, including the musician, David Adeleke.
